Be a happier Drupal developer with Rules (presentation at DrupalCon CPH)

DrupalCon Rules! And here are slides, presentation text, examples and some other resources for my presentation in Copenhagen.

The attachments include:

  • The slides
  • The talk – not verbatim, but with more comments and stuff
  • All the rules configuration, exported
  • The site setup, in a feature
  • Some extra notes, containing a list of used modules and some snippets I copypasted

If you're interested in Rules I recommend checking out our screencasts and blogs, visiting the Rules group, the Rules handbooks pages and helping out in the Rules issue queue.

Here's a link to the recording of the presentation.

Very nice and useful session. Thank You. You managed to make me slightly happier.

I love Rules because I am also not a coder (or not a good one if I may) and you can do almost anything with rules.

Not sure about its performance, but as said in presentations, using it on administrative tasks, such as node save, will be OK.

The Presentation Notes does not download...

As a non programmer, Rules sounds great but the discussion about performance is confusing, hard to know when it will be appropriate. Thanks for educating people.

Hm, all the attachments can be downloaded when I try as anonymous user in Chrome. What browser are you using, and can you double check that it is not working?

Thanks for the comments!

Oh want to add, my interest in Rules is because it should work with Openlayers to allow proximity alerts. Still trying to figure it out. Seems an essential feature for many web site.
