This screencast series presents the Content Access module, and how it can be used to restrict (mostly) view access for content on your site – on a content-type basis, or for individual nodes.

The first espisode gives an overview of some access modules for Drupal, and some general words about access restrictions.

The series also gives a few examples of how to use the module together with Rules, to automate changes of access.

I could not get the content access module to work for a node I didn't want viewed by anyone other than admin role. However I was able to get nodeaccess to do the job. Any feedback on why content access may not have worked? Also thanks for the excellent video lesson.

Do you have any other node access modules enabled? That might cause strange effects (especially if more than one module wants to control the access of a particular node). Otherwise I don't know. You have cleared the cache? If you can reproduce the error on a clean install, I think you should file a bug report.

Really good drupal screencast. I'm really impressed about how much you guys have to offer. I would like to contact and get few mentoring ideas for the project I'm developing which is bigger and more complex than I thought at the beginning.
I have doubts about issues like userpoints+rules and voting+rules. Not always easy to find..... I'm asking because few words can save me days of fighting..... and I would really appreciate it.
I know that you are very busy...... anyway my email is mario.85@hotmail.com

Thank you in advance..... and for doing this sceencast.

Sorry, there is little time for answering individual questions. Best way is probably to post in the Drupal forums, and send a link by e-mail (or post it here). :-/
